Competitive vendor landscape

The market for 3PL in Brazil is highly fragmented in nature due to the presence of numerous multinational, regional, and local vendors. Local players in the market pose a stiff threat to other competitors by providing outstanding services. Smaller and local vendors compete based on the cost, as competing with international vendors with respect to quality, features, and range of offerings isn’t feasible. Vendors in the market focus on making heavy investments for the development of technologies that can increase their operational efficiencies. During the forecast period, international players are expected to showcase inorganic growth fueled by the acquisition of regional players.

“The 3PL market in Brazil is currently experiencing an upsurge in the adoption of eco-friendly vehicles. 3PL providers are increasingly switching to the use of eco-friendly electric vehicles and renewable sources of energy and the use of hydrogen fuel cells to generate energy. The trend is spurred primarily by growing concerns about pollution caused by vehicles, recycling units, packaging, and warehousing. 3PL service providers in the Brazilian market are also emphasizing on the use of recycled materials for packaging,” says Sharan Raj, a lead analyst at Technavio for transportation and distribution.
